A new era of event ticketing via Facebook

Eventbrite Partners With Facebook To Power New Ticketing Functionality For Facebook Events

Eventbrite and Facebook announced the launch of a new “Ticketing on Facebook” product that brings ticketing functionality to Facebook Events.

The new feature allows anyone with a Facebook page to “Create Tickets” when setting up an event, easily adding paid or free tickets to their event. Tickets will also be shown on the Facebook Event Page quite prominently, and users can buy tickets directly on Facebook, or register for free events as well.

“Eventbrite and Facebook both share a passion for inspiring connection and helping bring people together. Past generations built their identities around their material possessions, but our newsfeeds today are filled with experiences, not the things we own,” said Pat Poels, SVP of Platform at Eventbrite. “700 million people use Facebook Events each month and partnering on this initiative is our effort to better serve the people responsible for bringing those events and gatherings to life—including small businesses and entrepreneurs whose core business is not throwing events.”

Facebook and Eventbrite have already been partnering closely to bring communities to live events, but the new feature makes it a lot easier for organizers to create and start selling tickets on Facebook.

The feature is particularly useful for small businesses and entrepreneurs who may not have the resources to create events. It will also include “include basic event management tools like the ability to track registrations and sales via a dashboard, and tools to help hosts communicate with their attendees.”

Another key benefit is enhanced accuracy, as selling tickets or taking registrations online helps hosts figure out the exact details that they may need to know – like how many people are interested etc.

Attendees can easily and safely purchase their tickets online and get a quick check-in at the door with a scan of their mobile or a printed ticket. They also get automated confirmations and reminder emails about their upcoming events.
